The 27 Club Capstone Project
The 27 Club is an exhibition installation based on the cultural phenomenon, highlighting the musicians, artists, actors and athletes who died at the age of 27, with many of the deaths linked to high-risk lifestyles. This includes deaths that are the result of suicide, homicide, drug and alcohol abuse, or transportation- related accidents. The exhibit specifically focuses on 3 main musicians of the club who are Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Amy Winehouse who all died at different times, years apart, but were apart of the same industry dying the same way. The presentation of the statistics goes to show and compare why this “phenomenon” exists.
The design is inspired by the colors and trends of rock and roll, but in a modern perspective, a musicians design style if you will because the exhibit and design is showcased more towards the musicians of the club because of their influence and reason why the club exists, with the club being started by the death of blues musician Robert Johnson in 1938.
Timelines
